Executive Board
NENA:
The 9-1-1 Association today announced that Lisa Hoffmann of the San Francisco
Department of Emergency Management has been selected by association President
Bernard Brown to serve as Western Regional Director on the organization’s 10-seat
Executive Board.
"I
am truly honored by this appointment,” said Hoffmann. "I look forward to
working with the rest of the Executive Board, NENA Staff, and our committees
and working groups to serve NENA’s membership and improve 9-1-1 service for all
Americans.”
Hoffmann
has more than three decades of public safety emergency communications
experience, and currently serves as a Deputy Director for the San Francisco
Department of Emergency Management, where she has led the Emergency
Communications Division since August 2007. She previously served as the
Communications Center Director for the Contra Costa County Sheriff, beginning
in May of 2002. Prior to that, she served as a Dispatch Supervisor at the Delta
Regional Communications Center located in Antioch, CA. Hoffmann began her
career in 1982 as a Communications Public Safety Dispatcher with Contra Costa
County (CA).
Hoffmann
was appointed by the Governor of California to the State 9-1-1 Advisory Board
in 2005, and served continuously in that capacity until 2013. She holds
California Peace Officers and Standards Training Certifications as a Public
Safety Dispatcher, Training Officer, Supervisor, and Manager.
"I,
and the rest of the Board, look forward to working with Lisa,” said Brown. "Her
expertise, her dedication, and her passion for 9-1-1 will undoubtedly benefit
NENA’s Western Region members, as well as the citizens who are made safer
through advances and improvements to our nation’s 9-1-1 system made possible by
NENA’s leadership.”
A
NENA member since 2003 and a certified Emergency Number Professional (ENP)
since 2004, Hoffmann has been active in both local and national NENA
activities. She served as the President of the California NENA chapter in 2007,
and served 2 terms as their Second Vice President, a term as Vice President,
and 3 terms as Past President. She currently sits on the Editorial Review Board
for the association’s quarterly publication, The Call.
Hoffmann’s
appointment fills the vacancy on the Board created when Chip Yarborough
resigned his position last month. "We thank Chip for his many years of service
to the association,” said Brown.
