NG9-1-1 Institue Seeks Candidates for Board of Directors

The NG9-1-1 Institute (Institute) is seeking candidates for six (6) open positions on the NG9-1-1 Institute's Board of Directors (Board). The Institute shares and enhances the mission of the Congressional NextGen 9-1-1 Caucus to promote education regarding and the advancement of emergency services nationwide.

Background / Election

The Board is comprised of fifteen (15) members. Four (4) permanent seats are held by representatives of: the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO); the National Emergency Number Association (NENA); and the National Association of State 9-1-1 Administrators (NASNA), and the Executive Director of the Institute serves in the remaining permanent position. The other eleven (11) members are divided between two (2) annual election cycles, serve two (2) year terms each, and are elected from various constituencies as listed in the Bylaws of the Institute (posted on the Institute’s website). The following six (6) seats are open to serve for 2015-2017:

  • 1 (one) Education Professional
  • 1 (one) Representative of a small telecommunications carrier/ company
  • 2 (two) Representatives of vendor/integrator/software companies
  • 1 (one) Representative at large – general
  • 1 (one) Representative at large representing Public Safety / Public Health

The Institute welcomes the nomination (including self-nomination) of prospective Board Members who are committed to the mission of the NG9-1-1 Institute and are prepared to dedicate themselves in the service of our organization.

There is no limit to the number of nominations you can submit. You do not need to be a member to submit a nomination, but youmustbe a current memberof the Institute to vote and serve on the NG9-1-1 Institute Board of Directors. Again, self-nominations are encouraged. Become a new member, or re-activate your membership now.

Please remember you MUST register as a membereach yearto be considered an active member of the Institute, and therefore eligible to vote and/or serve on the Board.

Timeline

Two SEPARATE forms (links below) must be completed by / for all candidates:

1. A completedNomination Form(either third-party or self-nomination), AND

2. An Affidavit of Candidacy must be received by the Institute no later than 11:59PM Eastern Daylight Savings Time September 16, 2015. Please Email completed forms to: contactus@ng911institute.org.
