Working Groups

  • GIS Data Stewardship
This Working Group will focus on GIS Data Stewardship specific to GIS layers used for Location Validation and Emergency Call Routing Functions in Next Generation 9-1-1. Topics will include: GIS Database Development; Quality Assurance/Quality Control; and GIS Data Maintenance. We are looking for a well-balanced group that will include contributions from those with expertise in any of the following: i3 architecture; GIS; PSAP operations, and especially those who speak PSAP. Calls are Friday's from 1-2:30 pm ET.

  • Location Validation Consistency
The Location Validation Consistency Working Group is creating a NENA document that describes baseline validation requirements, to provide guidance to implementers of LVF systems, such that when LVFs from different vendors are provisioned with the same GIS data, they return the same valid or invalid responses for the same proffered locations. The following skill sets are needed for this effort: solid understanding of the ECRF/LVF & the LoST protocol, solid understanding of the NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model, knowledge of PIDF-LO and CLDXF, implemented and/or have a working knowledge of E9-1-1 ALI DBMS systems, operational background with maintaining GIS address data, PSAP systems administration, 9-1-1 Coordinators/Program Managers and other operational staff involved with assessing and maintaining MSAG/ALI/GIS records, ensuring their accuracy and keeping them in sync. Weekly meetings to be held on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00pm Eastern Time.

  • Policy Routing Rules
The NENA PRR WG is reforming to refresh and update the three documents covering this topic. The WG will assess changes in all NENA standards since the initial release of the documents and make required changes. The WG will also evaluate the possibility of collapsing the three documents into two or perhaps a single document going forward. We welcome participation from all stakeholder groups but are especially interested in recruiting 9-1-1 Authorities and vendors that have implemented NG9-1-1 in general and ESRP/PRR in particular and have some operational experience with this functionality. The WG will have a conference call every Friday at 1:00 pm mountain time beginning on June 29, 2018. It is anticipated that given the narrow scope of work, the WG could fulfill its charter by the fall.
