Brian Tegtmeyer, ENP
Brian is the Executive Director at DuPage Public Safety Communications (DU-COMM) and has worked in public safety communications for more than 21 years. In his current position, Brian runs a consolidated 9-1-1 center in the second-largest county in Illinois, serving over 44 police and fire agencies, and more than 800,000 citizens.
Brian began his career as a 9-1-1 Telecommunicator in Illinois’ Hazel Crest Police Department. In this role, Brian demonstrated an attention to detail and skill in emergency response that elevated him to the position of Supervisor of Police Administrative Services. Soon, he was supervising a CALEA-accredited communications center, providing public safety communications for two police and three fire departments. Brian then became the Executive Director of CenCom E9-1-1 in Round Lake Beach, IL, before joining DU-COMM in 2007.
Brian serves on the NENA Education Advisory Board, the IL-TERT Board of Directors and various other public safety communication committees. He is also an Adjunct Faculty member at the College of DuPage, teaching a Public Safety Telecommunicator course. Brian regularly presents on public safety communications operations and management and is a certified Emergency Number Professional.
