Jan Lorant, AIA/LEED AP is a Principal and Owner of Gabor Lorant Architects Inc. (GLA) and has been involved in the design and planning of public safety buildings for more than 30 years. His past work has included 9-1-1 dispatch centers, administrative and training facilities for police and fire departments, public safety answering points, and higher education facilities.
During his time at GLA, Jan has worked on a number of high-profile public safety architectural projects, including St. Tammany Parish 911 Dispatch Center in Lacombe, Louisiana (a 16,000 square-foot PSAP that consolidates the 9-1-1 Dispatch capabilities of eight entities) and Maricopa County Sheriff’s Headquarters & 911 Dispatch Center in Phoenix, Arizona (a 170,000 square-foot facility that supports over 700 sworn deputies and 2,000 detention officers). Jan has also worked on several additional public safety projects, mainly in Arizona, that include several Port-of-Entries and Operations Complexes.
Jan has been certified by the National Council of Architectural Review Boards and is a Registered Architect in four states. He is also a former Guest Critic at Arizona State University’s College of Architecture. Jan has served on the Executive Committee of Arizona Forward since 2007 and has presented at NENA’s national conference four times since 2013.
