Leslie Whitham, ENP
Leslie Whitham, ENP is a Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor for the Chino Police Department in Chino, CA, and has worked in the public safety field for more than 25 years. A longtime supervisor and instructor, Leslie brings to NENA a commitment to teaching and a belief in the importance of camaraderie amongst 9-1-1 professionals with her.
Leslie has been involved with the Chino Police Department since 1991, starting her career as a Reserve Police Officer. She became a Public Safety Dispatcher in 1992 when her agency opened its own communications center. In her new role, Leslie was responsible for both prioritizing/routing a high volume of emergency and non-emergency calls through a CAD system as well as working with incoming dispatchers to complete the department’s training program. After demonstrating her ability to train dispatchers, Leslie was promoted to Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor, supervising law-enforcement telecommunicators in support of the department’s strategic vision.
Leslie has over 600 hours of continuing education as it relates to 9-1-1. She has also served as a Senior Instructor for a nationally-recognized dispatch training company, providing in-person, online, and recorded training segments for Telecommunicators.
